About the training:  This is a challenging and fun Fusion training that involves the Krank cycles® and Indoor cycling bikes where you will have an opportunity to train on indoor cycling bikes and Krank cycles® in a energy packed group of 40 plus.  Johnny G is the creator of Spinning® and Kranking®, and Fusion is combining these two great workouts of Indoor indoor cycling and Kranking a “New” upper body erogometer hand cycle that involves the Krankcycle to train both core and upper body, as well as a great cardio workout, as you switch from the indoor cycling bikes and Krankcycles with music for 1 hour and a half, and is followed by a half an hour of relaxing yoga and stretching.

Pedals and shoes:  Look pedals, SPD compatible and regular toe straps are available on all indoor cycling bikes.  Participants will be placed on their bikes and will be given a number prior to training. We can not guarantee that you will get a bike with your type of pedals since the pedals vary and it is on a first sign up basis so please bring your regular shoes (a stiff soled shoe is recommended, in example a cross training shoe or running).  This is also recommended if you do not have a cycling shoe you can walk safely in like a mountain bike shoe, as you will be transitioning from your indoor cycling bike to the Krankcycles® through out the Fusion training.  So please bring your running/cross training shoe or workout safe shoe too just in case.

What to bring:

  • As mentioned above cycling shoes and running/cross training shoe or workout safe shoe
  • Towels (one to wipe down your bike/area and one for you)
  • Cycling shorts, jersey, and socks for indoor cycling.
  • Plenty of water for before and after the training, and a sports drink as the workout will go longer than 90 minutes and this is always recommended for longer workouts
  • An energy bar or gels or light snack
  • Yoga mat (regular mats are available at Frogs Fitness)
  • Photographic/Film Release (must be signed prior to participating-this will be supplied by Frogs Fitness if you are a member of Frog’s fitness and by Donna if you are signing up through her)

Photos: Photos will be taken at the event and you may be photographed so please refrain from taking photos during the event, as photos will be available on the website following the event.  A general “Photographic/Film Release” (must be signed prior to participating-this will be supplied by Frogs Fitness if you are a member of Frog’s fitness and by Donna Lau if you are signing up through her).

For more information: Please contact Donna Lau (626)893-6969 (Donna Lau is not online so please call her with any questions and concerns)

Tour De Cove-Challenged Athletes Donation Page Edit Link

Donna Lau -" Challenged Athletes Foundation"

On October 26, 2008, I will take part in the Tour de Cove – a four and a half hour spinathon to benefit the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). The event is held annually to raise funds for CAF – an organization that raises money to help people with physical challenges pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and athletics.

At the Tour de Cove I will spin® alongside challenged athletes who have overcome unimaginable barriers. I have committed to raise $5,000 for the Challenged Athletes Foundation. What is not widely understood is that the prosthetic limbs, adaptive sports equipment and training that enable these athletes to participate in sports often are not covered by insurance and can be inaccessible and cost-prohibitive to many physically challenged individuals.

CAF is often the difference between these individuals making it to the starting line or being left on the sideline. The funds raised through the Tour de Cove will be used to benefit future challenged athletes by allowing CAF to provide them with specialized sports equipment such as handcycles, sport-specific wheelchairs, and sports prosthetics.

I hope you’ll accept my challenge: Help me make dreams come true by making a donation in my name to the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

Thank you for your support of the Tour de Cove, CAF and my goal.
XOXO
Donna Lau
